"We were quite happy about your charges compared to what it would costs elsewhere, and you provided more than we expected. But it might be helpful if your website gave more guidance about your likely valuation charges and
updates". Mrs. N. B******, Aberdeen

Changes we made in August 2006:
Our original fee page provided an outline of the fee structure that we charged with a link to more detail giving exact fees charged. We took Mrs. B's suggestion to mean that we were not making this information easy enough to find so we now show the exact fees that we charge directly on the fees page with a more detailed breakdown of how this fee is calculated on a clearly visible link.

"I buy new items on a regular basis and to have single items valued each time does work out more expensive than having a lot of items valued all at the same time. Can you reduce the fee for people like me who continually expand their collection?" (Slightly edited as feedback was given verbally)

Changes we made in September 2006:
We have introduced our "Collectors Service" specifically designed for people like Mrs. M who want to keep their insurance cover up-to-date without the cost of producing a full report for each item as its purchased.
We can now produce a valuation for each item as it is acquired in a PDF format that is emailed to the client. For this we only charge the item fee, no set-up fee is charged. After one year has lapsed we produce a full report showing all the items that have been collected over that period. For this we charge a single set-up fee to cover the cost of producing the full report.

"My suggestion would be to hold appointments occasionally in the evening. Not everyone can come to you during working hours" Mr. D
McA******, Auchterarder
|
Changes made in July 2007:
We have now introduced an "Out-of-Hours" service. By arrangement, clients can attend appointments set early in the morning (6.45am to 9.00m) or in the evening (5.00pm to 8.00pm). There is an additional charge of £25 per appointment for this service.

"Surely, some people simply don't know what they have and would appreciate a little advice to decide what is worth valuing and what isn't" (an approximation as was part of a conversation)
Miss J G*****, Edinburgh (Not strictly a client, my partner, Jo)

Changes made in October 2007:
We now offer a free "Item Assessment Consultation"
with the intention of identifying those items that warrant
valuing and giving a clear plan of action. An exact quote
for carrying out the appraisal and valuation will be given
for your consideration. There is no obligation. Your quote
will be held on file should you decide to make an
appointment once you have considered our proposal.
